The morning opens over the Térraba‑Sierpe mangrove with a hush of mangrove roots and the metallic gleam of the open Pacific beyond. Travelers board a small boat in Sierpe and cut through channels thick with birdsong, then push into the swell toward San Pedrillo station — the gateway to Corcovado National Park’s forested interior.

Expect a 6–8 hour day: morning boat from Sierpe through the mangrove, guided hike at San Pedrillo with a waterfall visit and picnic lunch, then afternoon return to Sierpe.
