You step into a glass gondola and the coast slides away beneath you: red-tiled resorts, the turquoise edge of the Mediterranean, then a spread of pine and limestone that climbs toward a serrated summit. The Olympos (Tahtalı) cable car propels riders from the littoral foothills up to 2,365 m, turning the Taurus Mountains into a dramatic, fast-moving panorama.
easy.
4 hours (including transfers).
Minimal fitness required for the ride; short walks at the summit require basic mobility and stable footing.
The gondola ascent takes roughly 10–15 minutes; scheduled trips typically allocate around four hours total from pick-up to return to Belek or Antalya.
The cable car itself is accessible, but summit viewing areas include steps and uneven ground—assistance may be required for full access.
Layered clothing with a windproof outer layer and sturdy shoes is recommended; temperatures at the summit are significantly cooler than at the coast.
There is a small café and restroom facilities at the summit, but options are limited — bring water and snacks if you prefer more choices.
Tahtalı sits above the Lycian coast where classical ports like Olympos once connected Anatolia with Mediterranean trade; the mountain has long been a landmark for seafarers.
The area is part of a sensitive Mediterranean mountain-coast ecosystem; stick to marked paths, avoid disturbing wildlife, and follow local waste-disposal rules to limit impact.
