360° Views over the Tramuntana Mountains
The Ofra Hike Station trail starts in the Serra de Tramuntana, at the base of Puig Major and next to the Cúber reservoir. The route begins with a peaceful, flat section alongside the water, surrounded by nature. It then climbs through a scenic valley between mountains, offering increasingly stunning views. At the mountain pass, hikers are rewarded with a natural viewpoint overlooking the reservoir and surrounding peaks. The final, steep ascent to the summit of Puig de l’Ofre is challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views of Mallorca and the Tramuntana range. At the top, the silence and beauty provide a moment of peace and connection with nature. The descent follows a different path back to the reservoir, ending the hike with a sense of fulfillment and tranquility.
The Hike Station Grading System: Medium - Difficult
Food & Beverages: Carrying ample drinking water is essential. There are no stores or other facilities along our trails. Fruit and energy bars are ideal for mid-way sustenance.
What to Bring: The Hike Station will provide for each person a small backpack. You should bring at least 1.5L of water per person, and snacks if you would like. Please bring your own: sun hat, sun cream, and swimwear for coastal hikes. Also ensure you bring any necessary medication or inhalers that you might require during the hike.
What to Wear: Suitable footwear, including socks (sports trainers are fine). Anyone wearing unsuitable footwear (such as flip-flops), or no socks, will not be able to hike. Ideally you should wear comfortable, quick-drying sportswear. A jacket or hoodie are recommended for sunset hikes, windy days, or rare cold days! We think black is best!
No facilities exist along the trail, so staying hydrated is critical for the medium-difficult route.
Flip-flops or sandals are not allowed; trainers with good grip and support are recommended.
A hat and sunscreen will help protect you during exposed sections, especially in summer.
Carrying high-energy fruit or bars will keep stamina up on the climb and descent.
