Offshore fishing in Key Largo is all about the hunt for sailfish, marlin, dolphin (mahi-mahi), tuna, wahoo, cobia, sharks, barracuda, and lots of other species. Offshore fishing generally means trolling the edge of the outer reef just off the coast of Key Largo. We utilize all sorts of different types of baits depending on what species we are targeting. Lures and frozen baits are best for dolphin fishing in Key Largo. Live baiting is a favorite when going after sailfish and marlin. We also utilize a kite at times, which is always fun.
Different times of the year offer different varieties of options in the types of species to catch. The summer and fall months bring large schools of dolphin to the offshore waters of Key Largo. Largo wahoo and tasty tuna are also a very common catch for our guests during the summer and fall seasons. Winter is when the billfish arrive with spectacular live bait action. One of the most memorable moments in life is when you are reeling in a 100lb marlin and it starts to dance on the water. We practice “catch and release” when landing all of our billfish to ensure all generations can enjoy these marvelous creatures.
Reel Deal boats have limited space for up to six guests per trip, so reserve in advance, especially during peak seasons.
