Step through a painted bamboo gate on a warm Paia afternoon and the Pacific’s colors arrive before the resin does: wind-creased blues, white-froth highlights, and the slow hush of palms. Kai Luna Creations occupies a green-and-white house on Baldwin Avenue where island music and the scent of tropical fruit set a relaxed pace for a hands-on art session.

The class runs about 90 minutes; the studio applies a protective topcoat, and pieces require approximately two days to fully cure before pickup.
