Morning light slashes across Sanur harbour as the speedboat eases off the jetty and the island silhouette of Nusa Penida grows sharper—sheer limestone cliffs giving way to vertical drop-offs that descend into blue. The boat hum, salty spray and the reel of scuba gear set the rhythm for a day built around currents and wildlife: manta rays wheel at cleaning stations, turtles quarter reef slopes, and during the Mola season a ghostly sunfish may glide into the blue.
