Set in the heart of Midcoast Maine, Alice’s Awesome Adventures delivers a hands-on firearm safety course designed exclusively for women. Centered around the NRA Women’s Only Basic Pistol Safety Training, this experience offers beginners an accessible and supportive learning environment to master fundamental handgun skills. Situated near the vibrant town of Brunswick—a gateway to rugged coastal landscapes, pine forests, and granite ledges—this course blends practical instruction with the confidence to handle firearms safely.
Led by Master Maine Guide Alice, whose deep roots in Maine’s outdoor culture underscore her expertise, the class is more than a typical gunsafety course. Alice structures interactive lectures paired with hands-on training that break down key concepts from holding and loading a handgun safely to shooting fundamentals and troubleshooting malfunctions. The classroom sessions prepare students thoroughly before they transition to a private shooting range for a guided live-fire component. This semi-private setting fosters personalized attention and a non-intimidating atmosphere uncommon in mixed-gender ranges.
This training is not just about firearm use; it’s designed as an empowering skillset for women prepared to add handgun competence to their outdoor adventure repertoire. Whether for personal safety, hunting, or general proficiency, the certification earned here aligns with Maine’s requirements for concealed carry permits, making it a practical step for those considering legal firearm ownership.
The course’s location in Brunswick positions participants near several lesser-known natural areas, where rocky shorelines meet dense woodlands, ideal for spotting local wildlife like white-tailed deer and barred owls. Alice’s emphasis on stewardship highlights respect for the environment and safe, responsible firearm handling amid Maine’s cherished landscapes. For women looking to build confidence with pistols in a welcoming, expert-led class, Alice’s Awesome Adventures delivers a one-of-a-kind opportunity engraved in Maine’s outdoor tradition.
