For six unforgettable hours, you’ll chase the elusive aurora borealis across pristine landscapes, guided by expert local guides who know exactly where to find the best views.

Travel through snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and remote vantage points far away from city lights. With each stop, you’ll have the chance to witness the sky come alive in vibrant waves of green, purple, and pink. The meeting point is our cozy Northern Norway Travel Shop at 20:00 (8:00pm) in the city centre: ground floor of Tromso Havn Prostneset (opposite Clarion The Edge), Samuel Arnesens Gate 5. Drop-off after the tour is included at any central hotel, which can be selected in your booking.

As we are in the Arctic please wear all your warmest clothes - layers are going to be key! We recommend using wool underlayers, wool socks, a good winter coat, warm boots, gloves/mittens and a hat. Thermal suits will be provided to wear on top.

Please bring:
Some water in a reusable bottle and your camera.

Things to Consider:

  • We require a minimum of 5 people to run this tour
  • The only guaranteed toilet break is at the beginning of the tour in Tromsø Prostneset
  • The tour is a chase which requires driving long distances chasing the clear skies
  • There will be no meal on the tour, please pack snacks or light meal
  • We recommend wearing spikes in icy conditions
  • We only cancel if the weather conditions are dangerous
  • The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and we cannot guarantee that you will see them on the tour
  • We do not offer a discount on a second tour if you do not see the aurora
