About

Experience the layback atmosphere of Mar Chiquita Beach! A sheltered cove almost completely enclosed by jagged rocks, creating a pool for swimming and soaking in the sun at the town of Manati. Umbrellas and chair rentals are available occasionally, along with some food trucks and stand mostly during the weekends, where you may find authentic Puerto Rican fritters and refreshing drinks. On the way out of the cove, a quick pitstop will be made at one of the many small caves found along the entire northern karst zone of Puerto Rico. There you may seize the opportunity to snap a few cool pictures with some natural stalactites of the cave ceiling as background. Along the way to our second stop scheduled for the day (Puerto Nuevo Beach at Vega Baja), you’ll get a small taste of Puerto Rican local bar hopping better known as “Chinchorreo”. Once you’ve enjoyed the golden sands of Vega Baja beach which offer magnificent views and photo opportunities. There will be one last stop at a restaurant to savor a little local gastronomy before turning back for the day.

Car Seat Laws in Puerto Rico require that children under the age of 4 years traveling on public highways must be in a protective car seat (exempt handicapped or incapacitated children). Infants and children age 4 to 9 or under 57 inches must be in a booster seat that meets federal motor vehicle safety standards appropriate for the child's weight and height. Children age 9 and older or over 57 inches must be using a seat belt properly. The driver is responsible for compliance with provision and subject to penalty for failure to comply. Children under age 12 must be in the rear seat of a vehicle, if possible. [Child safety seats or booster seats are not available or provided by West Side Destination LLC. at the present time. Adult parents (legal guardians) are responsible to acquire child safety seat(s) or booster seat(s) prior to starting the activity.]
