Trip Overview

Watch the stars shimmer off the waters as we travel into the night and experience Lake Tahoe in complete silence. We’ll explore one of Lake Tahoe’s most pristine trails as we search for constellations and learn about the night sky.

The Lake Tahoe basin has very low amounts of light pollution giving way to an incredibly vibrant night sky. We’ll setup for the show high above Lake Tahoe’s waters and enjoy a hot beverage as we take in the sights.

Adventure Restrictions

  • All participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to participate in this activity.
  • Guests must be fully mobile & in good physical condition to participate in any of our hiking tours.

This activity requires participants to meet our guides at the starting trailhead. Drive times from South Lake Tahoe vary from 10-15 minutes. Detailed directions will be provided upon booking confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will receive full credit towards a future adventure tour with Tahoe Jack's Adventure Authority. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to departure will receive no credit. Trips cannot be cancelled due to weather conditions, unless such cancellations are made by Tahoe Jack’s Adventure Authority. In the event a trip is cancelled by Tahoe Jack's Adventure Authority due to adverse weather conditions, a full credit refund will be provided. No refunds, discounts or reimbursements will be granted to no-show trip participants, late arrivals, dismissals or any customer that is deemed not suitable to participate due to ill health, medical conditions, intoxication or poor levels of fitness.

  • The above cancelation policy does not apply to multi-day trips that require initial deposits. Please call an adventure advisor to discuss multi-day cancellation policies.

Temperatures can drop significantly after sunset, so pack a sweatshirt or lightweight jacket to stay comfortable.

Wear Sturdy Footwear

The trail covers approximately 4 miles of mixed terrain; hiking boots or well-gripped shoes are recommended.

Minimize Light Pollution

Avoid using bright flashlights or phone screens to preserve night vision and enhance star visibility.

Stay Hydrated

Even in cooler weather, bring water to stay hydrated throughout the three-hour hike.
