Your Footplate Pass Experience supports the continued preservation of Tanfield, the world's oldest railway.
Please note that Footplate pass holders must be aged 18 or over and complete a health and safety declaration prior to participation. Only one Pass holder can travel on the Footplate at a time. This activity may not be suitable for those with some disabilities, particularly where these affect mobility, concentration, dexterity and co-ordination. If you believe this may be a factor for the participant please contact us in advance to ensure the activity is suitable and to avoid any embarrassment on the day.
Car parking is available at Andrews House station (NE16 5ET), free of charge. Your experience will start from Marley Hill welcome building - just across the bridge from the car park. Here you will be met by one of our Tanfield greeters.
