New York New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise Aboard the Nautical Empress

THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE® · Independent discovery and booking for outdoor travel

Read the full experience

The bow hums underfoot and the skyline shivers with light as the Nautical Empress slips away from Manhattan; the DJ threads a steady beat, laughter rises over the open bar, and the Statue of Liberty stands like a lantern at the harbor’s throat. Guests cluster on deck, cameras raised, while the river’s current seems to pull the evening forward toward midnight and the main event: a front-row fireworks show framed by Liberty’s silhouette.

Adventure tips

Dress in windproof layersEven with a party atmosphere, temperatures on the water drop sharply after sunset—bring a windproof outer layer and warm base layers.

Arrive early for boardingBoarding windows close; arrive at least 30–45 minutes before your latest boarding time to clear security and choose a good viewing spot.

Protect your camera gearSecure cameras and phones with straps or waterproof pouches—the deck can be crowded and the spray can reach devices during crossings.

Plan for motion sensitivityIf you get seasick, take preventative medication or sit midship near the centerline where motion is minimized.

Recommended gear

Warm windproof jacket: Blocks harbor wind and keeps you comfortable on outdoor decks at night.
Secure camera or phone strap: Prevents dropped devices when moving between decks or during crowded viewing.
Small daypack or waterproof pouch: Carries essentials and protects them from spills and spray.
Motion-sickness medication or bands: Reduces likelihood of nausea for those sensitive to boat movement.
