La balade commencera par une exploration de la Ville Nouvelle originelle, New Town, développée dès 1763 par James Craig, après la chute des fortifications de la Vieille Ville. On y évoquera son architecture si particulière et l’importance du mouvement des Lumières écossaises.
Nous irons ensuite flâner du côté de Dean Village, un ancien village de meuniers et de boulangers au bord de la rivière. Nous ferons un crochet par le mystérieux Dean Cemetery, où très peu de visiteurs s’aventurent. Enfin, nous traverserons le quartier de Stockbridge, avant de revenir à St Andrew Square, là où tout a commencé.
