The morning air out of Las Vegas is thin and dry, and by the time the van rolls into Kershaw Canyon the desert has already begun to warm. Riders step off the bus into a palette of ochre canyons, sagebrush flats and pine-fringed ridgelines. Pedals click. Conversation softens. The rhythm of the group, guided and measured, sets the pace for seven days that stitch together steam-era rail towns, slot canyons and mountain-bike flow trails.
