On Naiba Lake, just above Shionoe in Takamatsu, kayaks slide out from a small concrete launch and into the quiet held by a 70-year-old dam. The lake feels deliberate and slow: the breeze teases ripples, reeds lean like listeners, and the shoreline alternates between cedar stands and rocky berms.
