Adventure Tips

Wear sturdy walking shoes

The terrain at the Walls of China is uneven with loose gravel; solid footwear ensures safe footing during night walks.

Bring a flashlight or headlamp

Although guides provide lighting, carrying a personal light source adds safety and convenience on trails after sunset.

Stay hydrated

Dry desert air can dehydrate you quickly even at night—carry water and take frequent sips during the walk.

Dress in layers

Temperatures can drop sharply after dark, so bring warm clothing to stay comfortable throughout the evening.
