The ride begins where the forest thins and black sand takes over: at the Euro Etna Tourism chalet on the volcano’s southern flank, roughly 1,900 meters above sea level. Riders mount e-bikes among stone walls and wind-brushed pines, pedaling out onto paths hardened by old lava flows that look almost lunar. The trail alternates between shaded pine track and open, obsidian-strewn slopes; each turn opens a new angle on the Ionian coast far below.

The tour meets at the Euro Etna Tourism chalet on Etna South (about 1,900 m a.s.l.), near Rifugio Sapienza—drivers and local shuttles can reach this point.
