Stand at the lip of the upper Mrežnica canyon and the river seems to dare you forward: a ribbon of glass-green water threading between limestone walls, cutting through pools and terraced travertine falls. The sound is immediate—water over stone, birds calling from alder groves—and within minutes a guide straps you into a kayak and the canyon becomes a corridor of motion and light.

No — the trip is guided and designed for beginners; basic paddling instruction is given before launch.
Children around six and older can typically participate when accompanied by an adult; operators supply child-sized life jackets.
Guiding, safety equipment (helmet, life jacket), neoprene suit if needed, a paddle and waterproof containers are included.
Tours may be rescheduled or refunded if conditions are unsafe; light rain usually won’t cancel, but extreme weather will.
Local mills and small villages historically used the river’s flow; travertine deposits have steadily shaped the falls over centuries.
