Experience a scenic railbike adventure from Frostburg to Cumberland, showcasing the stunning Allegheny Mountains and vibrant fall foliage. Glide over bridges, through The Brush Tunnel, and alongside cyclists on the Great Allegheny Passage. Conclude your journey at the historic Cumberland Station, with a chance to relax at the nearby Trail Inn Cafe.
A great way to see the entirety of the railroad and mountain scenery and our most popular trip in the fall months with the changing leaves. Over 15 miles of track mostly on a downhill grade (the last 3/4 mile will require some effort) The route includes beautiful scenery through the Allegheny Mountains of Western Maryland. We will go over bridges, through The Brush Tunnel, coast parallel to the Great Allegheny Passage and wave hello to cyclists as we pass through The Narrows. We will finish our tour as we glide into The Queen City, Cumberland, MD.
The terminus of the excursion is at the Historic Western Maryland Railway Cumberland Station at Canal Place. Our tour guides will show you where the shuttle bus will pick you up at 11:30 for your return trip to Frostburg.
Once back in Frostburg we encourage you to grab a seat at the Trail Inn Cafe located just across the street from the depot. Grab a burger or ice cream and a front row seat to watch the steam engine roll in!
