A pre-dawn headlamp beam threads the Sirimon valley as a cold wind pushes through high moorland. You climb through moss-draped forest into heath, then step out onto open slopes where rock and grass trade places with each rising metre. On summit morning the stony quarry to Point Lenana gives way to a raw, thin-air sunrise that makes every step count.
