Keep your cameras ready for possible encounters with elk, deer, bears, and other native wildlife in their natural habitat. Our experienced guides will share insights about the local ecosystem and wildlife behaviours.

Pro local tip: Mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable. Sometimes, the uncertain conditions, like light drizzle, gift us with the most mesmerizing landscapes and minimal crowd interference. Embrace it!

Accessibility: Adapted to various fitness levels, this tour involves some light walking to fully appreciate the surroundings.

What does the tour schedule look like?

Due to the changing sunset times over the course of the summer, we have staggered start times to ensure your visit aligns with the best times of the day for golden hour, sunset and dusk wildlife viewing.

  1. Pick-up in Banff
  2. 1 hour to travel to Moraine Lake on the scenic highway
  3. 1 hour at Moraine Lake - join your guide for a short lakeside walk or explore the Rockpile and take lots of photos!
  4. 25 minutes to travel to Lake Louise
  5. 1 hour at Lake Louise - you can join your guide for a short and easy lakeshore hike or explore the area on your own, up to you!
  6. 1 hour and 15 minutes of travelling slowly down the Bow Valley Parkway, where we see wildlife on 95% of our departures
  7. Drop off in Banff.

Do I have enough time for significant hikes, say, to the Lake Louise teahouse?

Given the tour's timeline, reaching any of the Lake Louise tea houses is not possible if you plan on staying with the group tour from start to finish. If you want to use our tour to access the lakes and are happy to find your own way back to Banff, our team are happy to advise you of alternate options for returning to Banff later in the day.
