About the Tour

The Rome Food Tour here at Show Me Italy takes guests on a two-and-a-half-hour journey through Rome’s vibrant food scene. Roman food and drink is best typified by its Monti neighbourhood — it’s the perfect place for guests to experience authentic Roman cuisine, including the creativity of its burgeoning street-food scene. This tour is a great complement to our Colosseum Tour and our early morning Vatican City Tour!

Experience Rome’s exceptional food scene on this Monti Street Food Tour. With more than 10 food tastings in just over 2 hours, we suggest you come hungry! You will meet your food guide above the Colosseum metro station and, after a brief introduction, you’ll be on your way to the trendy neighbourhood of Monti. With a long tradition of culinary excellence, this is the perfect place to experience the creativity and innovation of Rome's street food culture.

As you walk the charming streets, your guide will explain the subtleties of choosing a quality restaurant as well as the tell-tale signs of what to avoid. You will get to sample several different types of Roman-style pizza “taglio” and suppli, as well as two types of freshly made pasta. Of course, you can’t skip dessert while you're on a food tour! Your guide will then take you to a local bakery where you will sample different types of pastry and baked goods before topping everything off with a refreshing gelato.
