After being picked up from your hotel, arrive at Monchique and begin your guided hike in the village. Lose yourself in the quaint streets and alleys, and admire the traditional architecture and skirted chimneys.
Head beyond the village and see the farmhouses and vegetable gardens of the countryside. Make a stop at a local distillery to try the famous local drink, medronho, made from the fruit of the medronheiro (strawberry tree).
Continue toward the forest and marvel at its towering cork oak trees. As you walk, your guide will point out various native plants and animals. Follow your guide along scenic mountain trails that lead you to a creek where you can take a break.
After approximately 11 km, you will arrive back at Monchique Village. Then relax on a comfortable transfer to your hotel.
