Fog and heat trade places above the Arenal foothills as you step from the park reception onto a dirt track that tightens into a canopy trail. The forest here leans toward you: figs and heliconias crowd the understory while the canopy unfurls overhead. The guide lifts a telescope; branches twitch with capuchins and a sloth blinks lazily from a high crotch.

Suitable for most fitness levels; requires walking 3.2 km on uneven and occasionally steep terrain
The guided walk through the park is about 2 to 2.5 hours covering roughly 3.2 km across 16 bridges.
The trail is generally accessible for older children and people in average health, but suspension bridges and uneven surfaces make it unsuitable for those requiring full wheelchair access.
Wildlife sightings are common — sloths, monkeys, toucans and frogs are regularly seen — but sightings cannot be guaranteed as animals move freely in the forest.
Yes; round-trip transport from most La Fortuna hotels is included, with pickup times depending on your booking and location.
Mistico Park was developed to provide public access to Arenal’s rainforest canopy and to support local conservation and environmental education efforts in the La Fortuna region.
The park operates guided, low-impact routes to protect canopy corridors; visitors are encouraged to follow Leave No Trace practices and avoid off-trail exploration.
