The trail opens as the sun leans west over Ushuaia, and the Olivia River pulls you along a channel of glass and stone. You meet your guide at your hotel before 5:00 pm, then the van cuts a twenty-minute ribbon of road to a small trailhead on Nacional Route N°3. From there the hike is a brisk 2 km along the river’s arm, through lenga forest and across hummocky ground, finishing at the Bridal Veil (Velo de la Novia) where water threads itself down a rock face into a mossy pool.
