Discover a fun and educational miniature golf course rooted in Hawaiian history at Anaina Hou Community Park. With lush gardens and engaging holes, it’s a must-visit for families and adventurers alike.
More than your typical miniature golf course
Our 18-hole miniature golf course is set among a beautiful Hawaiian Botanical Garden, representing the different eras of our history. The course takes you on a journey through the origins of our island, the people that populated Hawaii and the plants and beautiful tropical flora that came with them.
The first few holes will take you through indigenous gardens, showcasing rare and endemic native flora of the islands before human contact.
Next, the course will exhibit the Polynesian discovery of the islands and explain some of the “canoe plants” that were brought here as key resources for the host culture.
Upon entering beds of sugarcane, pineapple, and guava, guests will learn about the cash crops that used to grow right here in the plantation town of Kilauea.
Beautiful Zen Japanese and Chinese gardens follow this plantation history, reflecting the influence that these cultures continue to have on Hawaii, making our island chain one of the most diverse places on earth.
Finally, lush tropical gardens of ginger, heliconia, palms and more will lead you through to the present day Hawaiian landscape.
Enjoy this educational experience of our Botanical Gardens while playing a fun and challenging round of miniature golf.
