A slow morning opens over the Kissamos hills: olive trees throw long, cool shadows across dusty lanes while the Aegean glints on the horizon. You meet a calm, veteran horse at a family-run stable, saddle up after a gentle briefing, and set off onto tracks that have carried shepherds and villagers for centuries. The animals move with unhurried purpose; the landscape answers in breezes that push the ride forward.

Yes—horses are described as well-trained and guides give an introductory briefing; riders should be comfortable following instructions and able to mount and sit for up to two hours.
The full experience lasts 4–5 hours with approximately 6–10 km of riding over mostly flat to gently rolling terrain and modest elevation gain (about 50–150 m). It’s paced for mindfulness, not speed.
