The tour runs about five hours and includes scenic coastal driving, stops at fjord viewpoints, a guided hike on Sommarøy, and light snacks.
The hike is categorized easy-to-moderate with some uneven footing; families and older adults who move at a steady pace can usually participate, but check with the operator for mobility concerns.
Tours may be canceled or rescheduled for safety in poor weather; operators typically require 24-hour cancellation for a full refund and will advise on alternatives.
Sommarøy and the Tromsø region have long been organized around coastal fishing and seasonal fisheries, with settlements shaped by Arctic light and sea routes.
Arctic vegetation is fragile—stick to durable surfaces, pack out waste, and follow local guidance to minimize disturbance to nesting birds and coastal habitats.
Arctic Wild Tours operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
