Dive into the heart of the Earth with our exhilarating spelunking tours, where you'll discover the hidden wonders of our magnificent cave system. Get ready to embark on a journey that will leave you breathless (in more ways than one) as you explore the mysterious world beneath your feet.

Expedition groups explore approximately 80% of the cavern system from the east entrance to the western most exit of California. The circuit is about a mile long, so stamina is required! The first hour of the trip consists of walking, crawling and squeezing through the historic "Mammoth Cave" area. Then groups pass through the "Middle Earth" area which was discovered in 1980. Here there is mostly walking through nearly knee deep, sticky cave clay (hightop shoes are a must) and the scenery is incredibly beautiful. The remainder of the trip consists of exploring the horizontal fissures in the "Cave of the Quills" area and a quick, 40-foot rafting trip across "Tom's Lake." The trip concludes with passages filled with ""goo,"" more beautiful crystalline rooms, and then ascending ladders to sunshine and showers.

Participants must be at least 16 years old, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

• Minimum Age: 16 years old • A must for adventure seekers • Explore an extra mile of cave where few get to see. • Navigate through tight passages, knee-deep mud, and clay • Traverse stunning crystalline rooms and underground lakes • Requires good stamina and high-top boots • Suitable for ages 16 and up, with minors accompanied by a parent or guardian • Primarily available in summer and fall, with water levels determining winter and spring availability. Call to confirm. • Please be aware that the Middle Earth Expedition requires decent levels of health and stamina and should not be attempted by anyone with mobility concerns or health limitations. • Minimum two participants to reserve. Solo exploreres will be guided to an already reserved trip as an addition.
