This activity allows you to do a lot and see a lot in a short amount of time. If you are in a time crunch or on your way to Tofino and don't know where to stop on your way up, this is for you.
Joining us for this full day tour as we take you along the best of the Mid Island starting with a hike to a breathtaking waterfall first thing in the morning. You might even find fossils there as the rock walls are very brittle and fossil often dislodge from it. This is also a great opportunity for a morning swim in the summer.
After this hike, we will have a beautiful walk along the Englishman River tucked in a pocket of old-growth forest to give you a taste of what is to come and tell you all about our amazing rainforest ecosystem while looking at moss-covered rock walls and amazing sandtone formations. This park also features first nation petroglyphs carved into the rock.
For lunch we will be heading to French Press Coffee Roasters, in scenic small town Qualicum Beach.
Then you will visit the breathtaking Cathedral Grove with giant towering trees with a self lead audio tour before heading out to Horne Lake for some underground exploration of a millions-of-year-old unique cave system to finish the tour.
After the caves, we will take you back to your pick-up location and if you want more, we highly suggest using one of our partner discounts for a sunset paddle board on the ocean or a sauna session on a beautiful flower farm.
The itinerary is flexible as the caving time might differ depending on availability. Vancouver Island regularly experiences droughts and wildfires during the summer month, so we might choose a different waterfall to make sure you witness something spectacular.
This tour is held on uncedded Snaw'naw'as and Kwalikum First Nation Territory and we are grateful to have the opportunity to share, live and play on their lands.
