About Your Captain Eric Grandcourt’s life started in Broomfield, Colorado many moons ago. He explored the Rocky Mountains while hiking and snowboarding every chance he got, enjoying the mile high city of Denver before spending a few years in Boulder. Eventually the cold winters lost their appeal, and Eric found a renewing warmth in Key West: He threw out those suits worn in Colorado offices and traded them in for wetsuits, and his cubicle and pushy boss were replaced with open water, sea turtles and schools of bottlenose dolphin. Eric splashed in to a life on the water as a Divemaster with Captain’s Corner Dive Shop in 2007, and became a Captain for the same company in 2010. He bought his own boat, “Laid Back,” in the winter of 2011 and has been sharing his love for South Florida marine life on private charters ever since.
