This Messina city tour is the best opportunity to live and explore the city at 360°, from 3 different points of view and off-the-beaten-path locations. At the beginning of the tour we will drive you to the northernmost point of Sicily, Cape Peloro, where you are going to explore one of the most significant aspects of the city of Messina: its relationship with the sea. Here you are going to have a detailed and “deep” meeting with the Strait of Messina and will understand more about the distinctive characteristics of an area of outstanding natural beauty.
After having explored the Cape, you will get to know Messina from its city center and its historical monuments; the city is mainly known for the astronomical clock in the Cathedral Square, which every day at noon charms visitor, and even the busy citizens stop for 10 minutes to enjoy the movement of the statues, listening to the Ave Maria.
After lunch we will continue shortly to arrive to Mt Dinnammare, at 3300 ft asl. Here, the Sanctuary of Madonna di Dinnammare will welcome you. Because of its geographical position and height, you will be able to contemplate in one single glance, as in a painting, the extraordinary view on the Strait of Messina and the city on one side, and on the Cape Milazzo and the Aeolian Islands on the other side and, with the best weather conditions, even Mt Etna in the distance. This last stop will make you finish a great Messina city tour: you are now ready to share your best memories with family and friends!
