Embark on an exhilarating two-day power catamaran course, mastering the art of operating a 37' vessel with twin engines and bow thrusters. With 16 hours of hands-on training, you'll enhance your cruising skills and gain confidence in various conditions, all while learning from experienced instructors in a dynamic environment.
TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS FROM 9AM-5PM STARTING ON THE FIRST BOOKABLE DATE (16 HOURS TOTAL)
This two day course will teach you how to responsibly operate a power catamaran with twin inboard engines and bow thrusters. Students will learn aboard our Fountaine Pajot MY4.S for 16 hours of classroom and on-the-water training.
This class will build upon the skills you learned in the prerequisite US Powerboating Basic Powerboat Cruising Course and subsequent experience skippering a single-inboard cruising powerboat. We will utilize the same US Powerboating Start Powerboating right text. Advance training in cruising skills will be included, with and without bow thrusters.
Completion requirements include successfully completing the following knowledge and skill requirements on a 37' power catamaran with confident and safe command of the boat in light to moderate conditions (max 20 knots force majeure). A high level of situational awareness must be demonstrated at all times. Stronger conditions are acceptable if you can safely control the boat with an awareness of limitation(s) in these conditions.
Prerequisites: US Powerboating Basic Powerboat Cruising, Powerboat Conversion, or equivalent prior inboard single screw experience
Tipping: Tipping your instructor is customary within the boating industry and it is greatly valued and appreciated!
