Complete beginners start here and they will be slowly introduced to the basics of ice skating with the goal of making the skater safe on the ice. Once they have been introduced to the correct way to fall and stand up on the ice, coaches will encourage skaters to find their own balance and start moving across the ice independently in both directions, forwards and backwards!
We have a fully stocked skate shop…so no need to panic if you forget your socks or gloves! Better still, we also have a cosy coffee shop so if you’re beginning to feel the cold, you can enjoy a hot drink and food, whilst you sit back, relax and view all the fast-paced action on the ice!
Our rinks maintain an air temperature of 10C so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
Indoor rink temperatures hover around 10°C, so wear insulated layers and long socks for comfort on the ice.
Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your lesson to check in, collect rental skates, and prepare without rushing.
Wearing a well-fitted helmet like a bike or hockey helmet is strongly recommended for safety during skill progression.
Learn safe falling techniques early to prevent injuries and build confidence on the ice.
Iceworld Acacia Ridge is part of Queensland's growing indoor ice sports culture, offering year-round skating despite the region's warm climate.
