One-Day Coaching for RYA Powerboat Level 2 or ICC (Motor up to 10m) A practical, skills-based course with direct assessment and certification

This one-day course is designed for individuals who want to formalise and refine their boat handling skills. It is especially suitable for those with significant prior experience or those who have completed a group course such as the PER (Patrón de Recreo). The day includes practical coaching focused on manoeuvring, safety, and navigation, with the option of obtaining a recognised certificate at the end.

The course leads to either:

  • The RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, or
  • A practical assessment for the ICC (motor, up to 10 metres) – a qualification recognised in many European countries for skippering recreational boats.

⛵ Course Objectives

You will develop practical confidence in:

  • Manoeuvring at low and high speed
  • Berthing and unberthing in various wind and tide conditions
  • Using lines, fenders, anchors and moorings correctly

📄 ICC: What Is It?

The International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft (ICC) is an internationally recognised certificate confirming your competence to skipper a recreational motorboat up to 10 metres.

  • It is issued by the RYA to UK nationals and residents
  • Spanish nationals and residents are also eligible to apply through the RYA, because Spain is not a signatory of Resolution 40 and therefore allows applications through foreign authorities
  • The ICC is often required when chartering boats or navigating in foreign waters
