8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
Complete beginners start here and they will be slowly introduced to the basics of ice skating with the goal of making the skater safe on the ice. Once they have been introduced to the correct way to fall and stand up on the ice, coaches will encourage skaters to find their own balance and start moving across the ice independently in both directions, forwards and backwards!
We have a fully stocked skate shop…so no need to panic if you forget your socks or gloves! Better still, we also have a cosy coffee shop so if you’re beginning to feel the cold, you can enjoy a hot drink and food, whilst you sit back, relax and view all the fast-paced action on the ice!
Our rinks maintain an air temperature of 10C so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
The rink maintains temperatures below 10°C, so bring insulated layers and long socks to stay comfortable.
Arrive 10 minutes before your lesson to scan your QR code and get your skates ready without rush.
Wear a well-fitted helmet such as a bike or ice hockey helmet to protect yourself during practice.
Take time to master direction changes and jumps with the help of coaches to avoid injury and improve faster.
IceWorld Acacia Ridge has been a center for ice sports training in Queensland since its establishment, offering year-round skating in a warm climate.
