This two-day course is designed for anyone aged 14 years and older who enjoys the outdoors and desires to be better prepared to appropriately respond to an emergency in a remote location. The course is taught inside the classroom and outside in the natural environment. Topics include: patient assessment, effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, how to manage environmental emergencies, improvise equipment, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions. Additional to the Wilderness First Aid 2-year certification, successful students receive CPR and AED certification as a part of the course. Students learn from and walk away with a copy of the text: Wilderness First Aid: Emergency Care in Remote Locations, SIXTH EDITION.
