The Eastern Desert has been traversed for millennia by nomadic Bedouin whose livelihoods adapted to scarce water and rugged terrain; many cultural practices seen today stem from that mobile pastoral tradition.
Tours should minimize water waste, avoid littering, and respect fragile desert vegetation; supporting local guides helps sustain community-based tourism.
