The road peels away from Marrakech into a rising band of ochre and stone—switchbacks of the Tizi n'Tichka pass climb to 2,260 m, then fall into iron-red valleys that hint at the Sahara ahead. By afternoon the palm-lined Draa Valley opens like a ribbon of green; by sunset you’re aboard a camel tracing the soft ridges of the Tinfou dunes as the camp’s lanterns wink on.
