You step out of the car and the air changes — cooler, scented with river stone and thyme — as the road slips up from Marrakech into the foothills of the High Atlas. The valley opens ahead: a braided stream carving terraces of olive and fig trees, donkeys picking their way, and a narrow path that climbs toward a series of waterfalls daring you onward.
