  • Our tours are generally 2 hours in duration.
  • We depart at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm daily.
  • Our 2025 Season runs from June 1st to September 30th.

Our Zodiac Vessels are known for having a personal feel with the water and whales. We offer a chance to see various marine wildlife and spectacular coastal views of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. A tour with Captain Mark's is a must for eco-tourists and photographers.

Capt. Mark's work with whales has been featured on local news specials and his tour has been chartered by the Discovery Channel. Capt. Mark's has been offering whale watching tours off the coast of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia since 1994. Thousands of visitors and residents have been introduced to the wonderful world of whales.

  • Book early to ensure your spot!
  • Our zodiacs do not have washrooms on board. Public restrooms are located near our launch next to the Whale Interpretive Center.
  • Please provide your email and cell phone number during check-out, and check the box for text notifications; this allows us to communicate with you in the event of a cancellation due to weather.
  • All participants must complete our digital waiver, which is linked in your confirmation email.
  • It is important to arrive 30 minutes before departure time and allow an extra 30 minutes of driving time due to road construction.

What to bring

Sunglasses, hat with string cord, sunscreen, camera and binoculars. Depending on speed and water conditions, guests may get splashed as part of this experience. It is recommended that you bring water-resistant clothing and footwear for the tours. We also have rain gear and dry bags at our office we can loan out for the trip.
