BayFutures: Reel Science

  • Open to ages 13+
  • Join us for a fun, hands-on three-hour course at the Discovery Center, where we’ll dive into the world of fish! We’ll kick things off in the lab with interactive activities that explore fish anatomy and highlight the importance of sustainable fishing for keeping our waters healthy.
  • Next, participants will board the eco-vessel for a fishing workshop and enjoy the stunning beauty of Tampa Bay along the way!

Coastal Crafting

  • Join us for a one-hour program celebrating the beauty of shells and the incredible creatures that create them. You'll learn about their biology and behavior and meet live animals while discovering their role in Tampa Bay. Then, unleash your creativity by crafting your own unique piece of shell-inspired art.

Restore the Bay Workshop

  • Have you ever wondered how you can help protect and restore the health of Tampa Bay? This one-hour workshop explores simple, impactful actions you can take to support the local marine environment. You'll also create your own Vertical Oyster Garden to take home or donate to our restoration program.

Critter Care 101

  • Discover what it takes to care for the incredible animals that call our region home in this behind-the-scenes, one-hour program. Gain insight into the important role animal care plays in conservation and education efforts. Of course, no animal care program is complete without an exciting meet-and-greet with one of our local animal ambassadors!
