The town unwinds beneath you: narrow Corso Reginna, sun-softened stone underfoot, and the air thick with citrus that seems to tug you up the stairs. You climb through terraces where lemon trees lean toward the sea, each terrace a small work of human patience perched on the Monti Lattari’s limestone ribs.
challenging.
2–3 hours.
Requires good stair-climbing endurance and steady balance on uneven, often-steep terrain.
The route includes many stone steps and short steep sections; a moderate to good fitness level is recommended rather than casual strolling ability.
The tour includes a tasting of lemon products, limoncello samples, and a 0.5L bottled water—bring extra water if you're prone to overheating.
Because of the large number of steps and uneven terrain, the tour is not suitable for those with significant mobility limitations or severe back/heart conditions.
Morning departures are best to avoid heat and enjoy clearer sea views; fall and spring offer the most comfortable temperatures.
Maiori’s lemon cultivation traces to centuries of coastal agriculture; the Sfusato Amalfitano variety became central to local trade and liqueur production.
Terraced agriculture is fragile—stay on marked paths to avoid erosion, support small family farms by buying local products, and pack out litter.
