About

Explore the Tchefuncte River, where you will see Lake Pontchartrain, Recreational River, Marsh and Swamp. Our small group size average of six ensures that you get a chance to ask our local Captain all the questions you want. The quiet 4-stroke motor and smaller boat doesn’t scare wildlife away and allows us to get deeper into the swamp than you would with the large-boat operators. Learn more and see more! The Tchefuncte River is located across Lake Pontchartrain.

Why Choose our Madisonville Swamp & Marsh Tour on Tchefuncte River?

We are one of the few swamp tours in Louisiana that doesn’t feed alligators. We are a true ecotour company, and we believe in respecting the environment and being aware of the threats that face this valuable wetland region.

Our unique tour navigates through shallow waters, venturing further into the swamp than most excursions. Visit quiet and isolated areas and spot more wildlife that hasn’t been scared off by other tour companies.

Learn about the history of the area and see what life in the Bayou is all about on the main river. Then peacefully troll through small channels while looking for gators and other creatures. Glide slowly through narrow passageways surrounded by cypress and tupelo trees draped with Spanish moss.

Our boats are customized with individual seats for each guest and even boast custom cypress floors. Our maximum group size of six ensures that you can properly relax, avoid the crowds, and interact fully with your guide. We provide an authentic, educational tour that leaves you with a deeper understanding of what makes the ecosystems here so unique.
