The Highlights Tour is a way to experience the interiors of two significant yet distinctly different Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings, Hillside and Taliesin. Created for the Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast and the casual visitor, the Highlights tour couples the history and masterful design of two architectural landmarks into one 2-hour and 15-minute tour. In addition to visiting the two buildings, this tour includes a drive through the scenic Taliesin estate past Midway Farm, Taliesin’s former farming complex.
This tour is a rich overview of the Taliesin property’s finest architectural jewels, beginning with Hillside, you'll see the: • Expansive Assembly Hall • Fellowship Dining Room • 5,000 sq. ft. "abstract forest" Drafting Studio • Newly renovated Hillside Theater • The Romeo & Juliet Windmill, the oldest designed building on the property
After visiting Hillside, you’ll drive across the property to the Taliesin home and enjoy some of the amazing areas such as: • Frank Lloyd Wright’s personal Drafting Studio • The Living Room • The Loggia • Mrs. Wright's bedroom • Frank Lloyd Wright's bedroom, the next major preservation project at Taliesin
Covering spaces designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1897, 1902, 1911, 1932, and 1952, the Highlights tour is similar in format to our popular Estate tour, minus the 1.5 mile walk and in half the time. The Highlights tour is a refreshing gateway experience into the legacy of both Frank Lloyd Wright and Taliesin for both the novice and the seasoned Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast.
