Operated by Adventure Trikes · Funchal, Madeira
You push off from a quiet Funchal side street and the island shifts around you: eucalyptus scents ride the wind, jagged basalt cliffs fold into green valleys, and the ocean slides off the horizon like a silver sheet. On a custom-built trike, the route turns each of Madeira’s dramatic scenes into something immediate — a fishing village perched on steep shorelines, the vertigo of a glass skywalk, and a climb toward Pico do Arieiro where clouds press against the ridge.

Madeira’s settlement by Portuguese navigators in the 15th century established terraced agriculture and winemaking; many coastal villages grew around fishing and trade routes.
Visitors should stick to marked roads and paths; Madeira balances tourism with fragile mountain ecosystems, so avoid littering and respect local land use.
