You have the chance to experience the Madeira Island lifestyle. Visiting our farm, you are able to select your own fresh products and choose all the ingredients we need for the cooking session and learn how to do the typical Madeiran espetada.
The typical Madeiran espetada (a sort of a kebab) is made with tender beef, bay leaf, salt, garlic and is then placed on the laurel stick to be roasted. This dish is found in other countries, with different denominations and cooking methods. In Madeira it is particularly different, as only beef and bay leaf are used, which take on the role of the skewer.
This experience starts with a visit to the farm, where you can choose the products that you use during the activity. The products used in our activities are preferably of organic origin, from the season, whenever possible.
You learn the recipes step by step and participate in all parts of the process, from the selection of the ingredients in the local farm to the final product and posterior tasting.
Using local products with excellent quality and the presentation of the meal are also very important, as is explained during the class.
After booking we will send all the details of the reservation, as well as the location of the farm and the contact of the farmer.
If you wish to propose another day or time for the experience, send us a message and we will do our best to reschedule, or we can include one more experience for all day.
