You glide off the cobbles with the Saône at your side, the Segway humming like a small, confident engine beneath you. In an hour the city opens and closes around you: the broad sweep of Place Bellecour, the ordered calm of Place des Jacobins, the sudden climb to Fourvière where stone steps and a metal lookout press history against the sky.
