• December through April: Witness the incredible 10,000-mile journey of the Pacific gray whale from Alaska to Mexico. These colossal beauties can reach lengths of 30 to 50 feet and weigh up to 40 tons! We’ve even spotted them just half a mile from our bay. Talk about close encounters!

• May through November: Get ready for the grand entrance of the great blue whales and mighty fin whales! Blue whales, the largest creatures to ever roam the Earth, can stretch over 100 feet long and weigh up to 200 tons. Meanwhile, the fin whales zoom through the water at speeds of up to 23 mph — the “greyhounds of the sea!”

• Throughout the Year: Expect to meet playful dolphin pods, including Short-beaked and Long-beaked Common dolphins, Pacific Bottlenose, Risso’s, and Pacific white-sided dolphins, all eager to perform acrobatics right next to your boat. Plus, keep an eye out for California sea lions, the elusive Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola), and a colorful array of seabirds!
