The first light breaks over the High Atlas as the minivan coils up Tizi n’Tichka, and the landscape opens from ochre villages to wide, wind-sculpted dunes. Travelers step out at Ait Ben Haddou to feel sun-warmed stone and then continue past Ouarzazate’s film sets toward the palms and golden swells of Erg Chebbi. At dusk the dunes dare you to climb; at night the stars press close above the luxury tent.
